Oscar M. Grablowsky, M.D. attended Emory University from 1957 through 1960. He earned his M.D. degree from Tulane University in 1964. His general surgery internship and residency were completed at Charity Hospital of Tulane University, including one year as Chief Resident in Surgery. Dr. Grablowsky then acquired specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery during his fellowship at the Oschner Clinic. Dr. Grablowsky has served the colorectal surgery needs of people in the Atlanta metropolitan area as well as the Southeastern United States for over 20 years.

Sander R. Binderow, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R.S.

Sander R. Binderow, M.D. graduated from Yale University in 1983 with a BS in Chemistry. He earned his M.D. degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians Surgeons in 1987. His general surgery internship and residency were completed at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, including one year as Chief Resident in Surgery. Dr. Binderow then acquired specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery during his Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr. Binderow has contributed extensively to medical literature, having published over twenty-five textbook chapters, scientific articles, and formal presentations.

Stephen M. Cohen, M.D. graduated with honors from an accelerated biomedical science program at the University of California at Riverside in 1983 with a B.S. He went on to earn his M.D. degree from UCLA in 1987. His general surgery internship and residency were completed at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, including one year as both Administrative and Chief Resident in Surgery. Dr. Cohen then spent the next two years acquiring specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr. Cohen is recognized as an accomplished academic investigator. He has been invited to speak to physicians at international conferences as well as published scientific research in national and European medical journals.

Raoul Mayer, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R.S.

Raoul Mayer, M.D., Ph.D. graduated from Columbia University in 1983 with a B.A. in Biology. He earned his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Mayer’s doctoral research was in the field of Immunology. His general surgery internship and residency was also completed at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, including one year as Chief Resident in Surgery. Dr. Mayer then acquired specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery during his Fellowship at The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He has published over twenty book chapters and research articles and has presented his work at national meetings.

Jeffrey S. Cohen, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R.S.

Jeffrey S. Cohen, M.D. graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside in 1988 with a B.S. in Psychobiology. He went on to earn his M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1992. His general surgery residency was completed at the University of California San Diego, including a final year as both Administrative and Chief Resident in Surgery. Dr. Cohen then acquired specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. Dr. Cohen has published and presented his research both nationally and internationally.

After graduating from Albert Einstein College, with a Bachelor of Science, Dr. Harry Liberman attended the prestigious Autonomous University of Guadalajara. He earned his medical degree, Summa-Cum Laude, and finished first in his class. Dr. Liberman completed general surgery training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Pennsylvania, including one year as Chief Resident in Surgery. He then obtained specialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Creighton University. Throughout his education, Dr. Liberman has performed research in many aspects of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Seth A. Rosen, M.D., F.A.C.S, F.A.S.C.R.S

Seth A. Rosen, MD graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University in 1992 with honors in American History. He then attended New York University School of Medicine as a Levin Scholar, achieving his medical degree in 1996. Dr. Rosen completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Chicago, including one year as Chief Resident in Surgery. While a resident, he established a colorectal cancer registry to further efforts in clinical research. Dr. Rosen acquired additional specialty training during a fellowship at the Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr. Rosen’s contributions to the surgical literature are numerous, including scientific articles, textbook chapters, and formal presentations.

John V. Flannery, Jr., M.D.

John V. Flannery, Jr., M.D. graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science. He then earned his M.D. at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. His general surgery residency was completed at the University of North Carolina, including a final year as Chief Resident in Surgery. While a surgical resident, Dr. Flannery, was awarded a prestigious Resident Research Scholarship from the American College of Surgeons and spent two years as a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. His research has been published and presented both nationally and internationally. Dr. Flannery acquired additional specialty training during a fellowship in Colorectal surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Jason A. Petrofski, M.D.

Jason A. Petrofski, MD graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. in Political Science. He then earned his medical degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at the Duke University Medical Center, including a final year as Chief Resident in Surgery. While a surgical resident, Dr. Petrofski was awarded a prestigious National Research Service Award by the National Institutes of Health. He subsequently invested two years as a Research Fellow publishing multiple manuscripts and book chapters as well as presenting data at national scientific and surgical meetings. Dr. Petrofski acquired additional specialty training during a fellowship in Colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Heather Terry, PA-C

Heather TerryHeather Terry, PA-C graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA in 1998 with 2 degrees.  She has a bachelor of arts in German and a bachelor of arts in Chemistry.  Heather was a member of the honor society, Phi Sigma Iota.  In 2001, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Physician Assistant program at South University in Savannah, GA. Heather has been with Atlanta Colon and Rectal Surgery, PA since 2001.

Patrice Braun, PA-C

Patrice BraunPatrice Braun, PA-C graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Valdosta State University in December 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to earn her Physician Assistant degree from the Surgical Physician Assistant program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated Magnum Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant studies in August 2006.

Elaine Meadows, PT

Elaine Meadows graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1980 with a double major in Economics and Environmental Studies. While at UCSC, she earned a Certificate in Massage Therapy. In 1987, Elaine earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University. She has specialized in biofeedback and pelvic floor rehabilitation for over 11 years. Elaine has lectured at many professional conferences, published scientific articles in nursing and a physical therapy journal, co-authored several book chapters, and is the Southeast Regional Representative for the APTA’s Section on Women’s Health. Also, she received the 2005 Elizabeth Noble Award. It is given by the Section on Women’s Health to one outstanding Physical Therapist each year.
